1/7 – Up waaaaay too late

December 20th, 2008

Wow, is it really time for 7 Days again? I guess it is. These last three months have flown by.

1/7 - Up waaaaay too late

Since I was up late enough last night that it was technically Saturday when I went to bed, I figured I might as well get my Day 1 photo done. As I took this photo I was thinking, I cannot believe I am still freaking awake crocheting gifts and wrapping Christmas presents.

Really, what is wrong with me? I could’ve done the rest today instead of staying up till the wee hours of the morning. I am a hopeless night owl, I guess. Especially when there is a deadline looming. I know some people do their best work bright and early in the morning but I have never been one of those people. Many times with the best of intentions I’ve thought, I’m too tired for this. I should just go to bed and get a good night’s sleep. I’ll get up at the crack of dawn and write the paper/pack that suitcase/clean this house! Then when the sun has risen and I’m supposed to be bounding out of bed to finish writing/packing/cleaning, I always shut off the alarm and oversleep. When I finally wake up I have to scramble madly to catch up and apologize profusely to anyone I’ve inconvenienced. At least when I stay up late I know stuff gets done, even if I have to drink a gallon of coffee the following day.

Note: I think this is the first time I’ve used the webcam for a 7 Days photo.

Having seen your earlier post and counted back for the time difference finally I had my answer as to how you get so much done. It’s not that you have extra hours in the day as I first thought, it’s just that you’re awake and using all 24 of them!

Oh, I do the same thing. When there’s as much to do as there is right now, I gogogo until I basically pass out. And then I nurse all night. And then I get up in the morning and gogogo all over again.
Until I hit a wall and either got everything done (riiiiight. like that’s ever happened!) or I get sick.

Those of us who do better in the morning don’t understand those of you who do better in the wee hours either. *wink*
