2/7 - Solstice

I am not feeling very inspired so far during this week of 7 Days. I think that’s partly because I’ve been scrambling to get Christmas-related stuff done and have hardly had any time to spend online. I’ve fallen way behind in commenting on everyone else’s 7 Days photos. And I still have a to-do list a mile long. On top of everything else, just as I am finally getting rid of the cough I’ve had for three weeks, I am getting a sore throat. Just…great.

Oh well. At least the lights look pretty. And I’ll live. Hand me the Zicam, will you? I think I’ll wander down to the kitchen and make some 1-o’clock-in-the-morning fudge before I go to bed.

Anyone else feel like kvetching? Feel free to vent in the comments!

Oh, do I feel your pain! Get that sore throat checked…I found out after a week that mine was strep (no fun but at least easy to treat). Also? Don’t wear yourself out. Annalie will find the season magical whatever you do!

OH NO! I knew you were going to catch it. Pfffffff…. I’m so sorry. Maybe 2009 will be your healthiest year yet. The Vanilla is so pretty.

Christmas lights make me happy :) Feel better!

Hope you are feeling better soon! I suppose it’s that time of year.

I followed your link to the fudge and now I think I’m going to have to make it!

I scarfed down nachos the other day and got a shard of tortilla chip lodged in my throat. It hurt for two days. I think that was the weirdest food-related freak accident since the infamous “That wasn’t a green bean, idiot, that was a really hot pepper” incident when I flew Air India for Christmas last year.
(You said to vent, and this is even vaguely related because of the sore throat thing. Right? At least it’s sort of funny.)

We are in the middle (2 weeks now) of a snow storm. I haven’t finished my Christmas shopping. The old man just spent an hour getting 10 inches of snow and ice off his car. He’s making a beer run and will pick up a ham for Christmas dinner…if he can get out.

Good thing my kids are teen-agers. We may have to have our Christmas late.

I know lots of people have snow, but this is the most snow this area has had since 1950!!! Ny kids don’t own coats, gloves or boots, because most winters we don’t even get a dusting. My 14 year old was making a snow angel while he was wearing swim trunks!!!

I have left the house 3 times this week. I’m so glad they have re-discovered some video games and are getting along. Any bets on how long that will last?

    Thanks for the vent.

I hope you feel better soon. I can’t join in, if I do I may never stop. :(

    Merry Christmas

And then the power went out.

    I spy homemade vanilla.

Pretty lights! I’m so sorry you’re feeling under the weather – a 3 week coffee is horrible!

I do have to smile everytime I look at the Crocheted Snowballs to the right. So soft and scrunchy in the big glass bowl.
