3/7 – Can I come in?
September 22nd, 2008
I’m standing outside our "front" door, which is actually on the side of our house. Our house was built in 1963 by the mayor of our town, who lived in the house next door to us, for his mother. Originally there was a staircase going from his property into our courtyard right by this door. Now there is a fence between the houses and a fountain in our yard where the stairs used to be.
That picture has nothing to do with anything. It just makes me laugh.
Annalie spent part of the morning pulling all her dress-up outfits out of her closet and laying them carefully on the floor. She told me she was getting ready for when her friend Baby Bug arrived, so Bug would be able to see all the outfits and choose which one she wanted to wear. When I asked if she was ready to take her self-portrait, she said, “Oh, I know! I want to wear one of my dress-up outfits!” First she put on the Barbie ballerina one, then tried out the blue Cinderella dress, but neither of those were quite what she wanted.
She spotted her flower girl dress hanging in the closet and said, “That’s the dress I want to wear for my picture! I love my flower girl dress.”

I love that Annalie is doing this also :) She’s a cute one!
The second picture makes me laugh too!
That’s cool that you know some of the history of your house. My house is kind of sad in that regard. “It was built in the early 2000’s during the big Vegas housing boom. It had 4 owners before us and we’ve owned it longer than any previous resident.” Not really a fun history! :-)
..and then Baby Bug arrived and completely ruined all the fun by not being interested in dressing up at all. Sigh…
That photo made me laugh too :)
I agree, what a beautiful flower girl dress. I’m glad she likes it.
Dude, that middle photo is weird and funny! Were you jumping? Why does your hair look like Hairspray??
I like the background to Annalie’s photo; she’s really putting great thought into it.
Annalie is so cute. I love the jumping shot :)
I’m diggin’ that 2nd shot.
Pray tell, what in the sam hill were you doing?
Tell Annalie that starting her creative juices this early in life can ONLY mean more beautiful bowls later on.
Oh wait, I’m mixing up a few things in my head…
heh heh
Still drooling over my bowl – and the cashews (definitely in that order).
Too cute!
I love the second shot of you, too funny!
