8 tiny moments
April 9th, 2008
April 1: Coffee Shop Corn Muffins I made for our Bible study potluck. They’re very nearly the perfect corn muffin—not too sweet, hearty but moist. I will definitely be making them again.
2: We’ve been spending lot of time on the deck lately. Lily, who is mostly an indoor cat, joined us for one of her rare strolls out-of-doors. She spent about five minutes at the open screen door, sniffing and rubbing, before she ventured out.
3: Mmmm, hummus & pita…from my favorite restaurant in Virginia Beach, Elia’s.
4: I got my new Stripey Electric Pocket from photojojo just in time for our weekend trip.
5: Annalie helping her cousin Leo and Aunt Dana put together a floor puzzle.
6: Feather Your Nest sent me this awesome oilcloth bag more than a week ago for the Color Me Happy Swaparooni Tote Swap. The main reason I’ve been slow to take a picture is because I started using it as soon as I got it out of the box! On our weekend road trip to visit family I used it to carry several crochet projects, two books, some snacks, and my new camera.
7: Annalie peeling glue off her fingers after a crafting session, wearing the apron from BeachMama.
8: Annalie nicking a strawberry from my fruit salad. I used half a fresh pineapple, two pints of strawberries, a handful of blueberries, a couple of bunches of grapes, and a mango at the peak of perfection. It’s in this bowl.
For the 30 Tiny Moments group on Flickr, nudged into it by Sarah. If nothing else it motivates me to use my new camera every day and get over my annoyance at not knowing how to use it already. Eight days down, 22 to go.
a quickr pickr post

8 tiny, wonderful photos! I love your new camera, BTW!
1. Corn muffins are hard to perfect. I might just have to try your recipe. I’ve yet to find one I really love.
2. I’m a cat person. Lily looks so sweet!
3. Hummus… yum!
4. Well, that’s the handiest thing ever! I am constantly rummaging for my camera. It’s either wedged into my purse or lost in the bottom of the diaper bag…
5. How fun! Wildman is nuts about the Diego puzzle I bought him. I might have to branch out into floor puzzles next :-)
6. Feather Your Nest picked out a lovely bag for you. It’s a nice, vibrant red.
7. What a sweet apron. Annalie looks engrossed in her glue-picking task.
8. Love the bowl! I recently took Wildman to paint pottery. He chose a dragon. I should have picked up something to for myself to work on but I had my hands full with the two boys. *sigh* The fruit salad looks wonderful.
That fruit salad looks so yummy. I love the bowl. Those corn muffins also look excellent. I seriously need one of those camera thingies. Annalie is precious, as always. Love ya’ll!
Corn muffin recipe please.
Pretty please?
I love your eight tiny moments. Great photos, lots of colour and they all look fun :)
I love hummus and pita. Love it, love it, love it!
And the fruit picture is so lovely. That’s one of my favorite things about spring and summer, bowls of fresh fruit!
THat fruit salad looks soooooo good … and so do those muffins … tomorrow morning, I’m coming to your place for breakfast!
I like the new red bag! Cute.
Corn muffins?! Weird..must be a southern thing! They sure look good but the idea kinda strikes me as odd. Hummus and pita….now you are talking….and fruit salad, yumm! The bowl….amazing, gosh you inspire me!
The tote and the camera bag, sooo cute!
Oh and of course Annalie and the apron, beachmama rocks!(Well you do too of course;)
Hey I really like that camera case!! I need a new one too.. I was jut wondering is it thick and bulky or does it lay pretty flat ? well at flat as it can with a camera in it ?
bethany actually says: No, it’s not bulky at all! If the camera isn’t in it, it lies flat. My camera is about the size of a deck of cards, and I can fit it and my cell phone both in the case.
Hello! I don’t even remember how I stumbled on your wonderful website. I am very curious as to what kind of camera you are using??? The fruit salad photo is AMAZING!!
Thanks
Erica
bethany actually says: Wow, thanks, Erica! I took that picture with my new Nikon D40.
