Annalie lost her first tooth!

Annalie lost her first tooth!

One of Annalie’s lower front teeth has been loose for a few weeks now. Tonight she bit into a hot dog at dinner and it came out!

wiggling her very loose tooth

This afternoon Annalie told me she thought her loose tooth was going to fall out soon. I took a look at it, and it was really wiggly. I told Annalie I’d be surprised if it lasted past tomorrow, and took a quick picture. Good thing I did it when I did, because the next thing we knew…

“Mom, can you take a picture and put it on your blog so Gramaw and all our friends and family can read the good news?”

We put the tooth into a little zip-lock bag for safekeeping, and Annalie put that into a coin purse. (Not just any coin purse, the sparkly Union Jack one Lauren brought her from England!)

I got an insider tip that the tooth fairy will be leaving four quarters and—because it’s Annaie’s first tooth lost—a gold Sacagawea dollar. So I guess a coin purse is the perfect spot for the tooth fairy to leave her payment.

ready for the tooth fairy!

    Congratulations, Annalie!!!

I think a coin purse is a pretty brilliant place for the transaction to take place. And we keep teeth in ziplock baggies as well so they don’t get lost. :)

  2. Gramaw says:

Annalie, I am so excited to hear that you lost your first tooth!! The photos are great Bethany!! I also think the coin purse is a great idea!!

  3. Bekah says:

Congrats! I didn’t realize she hadn’t lost any yet. I’m glad for you that it’s not the top ones yet. Once those are replaced she won’t look like a “little” girl anymore. Did you see Christa is missing 3 teeth right now? And yet she chose the whole apple instead of the apple slices at lunch yesterday. Will the toothfairy be leaving a note explaining about the gold dollar being special for first teeth so that doesn’t become the expectation every time? Can’t wait to hear more in person!

She is too cute for words.

    Yea Annalie! How exciting!!!

My Dad used to glue earring pegs onto the backs of my sister’s and my baby teeth and would give them back to us to wear. LOL I always thought that was odd….and was really confused as to how he wrestled them away from the Tooth Fairy.

Now that I’m older, and I’ve saved a few baby teeth from my dogs, I can see this was more sentimental to him…watching his girls grow up.
