Annalie the wildlife warrior
January 27th, 2009
One of Annalie’s favorite shows is Bindi the Jungle Girl. This morning as I combed her hair she was channeling Bindi, telling the mirror about the toy otter she was cradling:
“You know, this is a little baby platypus. Well, it’s really an otter but some people call them platypuses. And Otters are—they’re almost distinct in the wild! Some people hunt them so they can make them into otter soup, and…otter brownies. And I want to see otters in the wild, but I don’t want to see them in my soup. They’re such GORGEOUS creatures, aren’t they?”

Oh my gracious, that’s adorable!!! My kids channel Rachael Ray, Bobby Flay and Alton Brown. Hmm, I sense a theme there!
how precious!! i’m afraid my nieces sometimes channel me – i better get them watching bindi instead!
How absolutely cute!!
No offense to Miss Bindi, but I think Annalie is way cuter and funnier! :O)
Oh man… that’s awesome! I love that record these moments on here to share with us, but even more that you will have them for the future to remember. It will be so fun for you (and hopefully Annalie) to look back on these moments and remember her childhood creativity.
People also make otter pops! It’s beastly!
I love her outlook on things.
Sonja – Hahahahahahaha…(pause for breath)…HAAAAhahahaha!
Oh man, that was good. Otter Pops! Thanks for that. You win best comment award today. :-)
I think this photo is one to be framed.
And otters are so cute!
When I watch Bindi, it makes me think she’s on something. Just a little too animated, ya know?
How adorable!! She really is a cutie! I have to agree with Ricki though, Bindi is a little too animated for me too!! LOL
Ha ha ha! Otter brownies! I just snorted while laughing there.
You are seriously killing me. I am going to eat her up this weekend!
That is ADORABLE! And those eyes? Oh my word. I love the little quotes that you write. They’ll come in VERY handy when she get’s married ;)
OMG she’s adorable! Luck you have a kid who still loves animals! And I agree, that picture IS frame worthy. She’s absolutely cute!
My son was in the 2007 Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade and Bindi was in it as well. Here’s a link to one of the pics I snapped of her and her Mama at the corner of 64th and Central Park West. Hope Annalie likes it.

Loved the story and the picture…I hope it gets framed because it is fabulous.
You are blessed.
That is *completely* adorable.
Cutest. Picture. Ever.
I love when my Monster does this. Cracks me up and breaks my heart with love just a bit.
…and on that note, I *otter* go to BED! (It’s only 4 AM..YIKES!)
