awakened to danger and called to defend freedom
September 11th, 2009
I remember. And I thank those and honor those who serve to defend that freedom.
Does anyone besides me find it mystifying that Google chooses to recognize such interesting dates as Jackson Pollock’s birthday and the anniversary of the Lunar Landing with holiday logos, yet they’ve never once memorialized 9/11 with a logo? I’m not calling their patriotism into question. After all, I don’t run around wearing “I love America” t-shirts, and no one’s calling me a commie. It’s their company, they get to decide what events or anniversaries get special logos. But check out this screen grab of Bing‘s front page on 9/11/2009…how cool is that?!

Thanks for your post today. My kids and I went to a Memorial today for those who were lost 8 years ago. What a flood of emotion that was. Wow.
Love Bing’s screen! So awesome!
Thanks for your post. I sent a reminder to my boyfriend (retired Navy) who is now a firefighter about the flag going to half-staff and he told me last night that their station didn’t do it. I don’t understand and neither did he (even after he had told his captain). Made me more than a little sad.
Thanks to you, Troy and Annalie for your service for our country. :)
Great post. We remember too.
Weird that Google doesn’t do anything for it. Huh.
I remember that day very well. The horror America faced that day.
