Breakfast conversation with Bug

Bug laughing

This morning, before Brenda and Bug left our house to head home, I was eating a bowl of Raisin Nut Bran (best raisin bran EVER) in front of my laptop when Bug wandered over and asked, “Bethany, what are you DOING?”

“I’m eating cereal and checking my email,” I replied.

She looked at me, peered into my bowl, looked back up at me with a puzzled expression. “But those aren’t NOODLES!”

“Well, no,” I replied, trying not to laugh. “I’m not eating noodles, I’m eating cereal.”

She crouched down on the floor, then asked again, “Bethany, what are you DOING?”

That time I did laugh. “I’m checking my email and eating cereal for breakfast, silly! What are you doing?”

She looked at me solemnly, then grinned and leaned against me for a second. Then she turned and ran off.

  1. Pictures of Bug and Annalie always make me smile. And getting little glimpses into their personalities through these conversations even more wonderful. I’m so glad you have such a good friend in Brenda and that you share your fun little moments with all of us!

  2. Having two blogs is getting weird, my name is mixed up all over the place! :-)

Hmmm. I eat noodles for breakfast more often than I care to admit.

  4. Jummy says:

What a cutie! Are you sure you weren’t having noodles for breakfast? ;)

You obviously did not respond academically enough. She was in a transcendental state and you were being a concrete thinker.

    hahaha – role reversal

    or something like that

I have a Bug too! His name is Jutty Alex and he is five. When he’s annoying he’s referred to as “The Pillbug”. He questions my habit of dipping cookies into my tea, and he thinks noodles — as long as they’re hanging out with cheese in some way — make an excellent brekkie! Sounds like my bug and your bug would get along famously!

Annalie is beautiful. Jutty loves the pic of her making the famous tin foil festive!

I love the Bug, haha. I haven’t had Raisin Bran in a long time. Sounds good right now.
