butterfly plate

I painted this with my new paintbrushes, just to try them out and to do something completely different from what I normally paint. It didn’t turn out exactly as I hoped it would, but it’s fresh and springy. Not sure what to do with it. Anyone out there want it? Anyone at all? And mamalang decided it would make an excellent early birthday present for herself, so it’s in my etsy shop for her.

red, orange and yellow dotty espresso cups

I painted these espresso mugs for a custom Etsy order. Rhonda saw my little dotty ‘be happy’ cup and saucer and said she’d love a pair of those in shades of red, yellow and orange. They were really fun to paint.

dotty "be happy" bowl in spring colors

dotty "be happy" bowl in spring colors

I painted this flat, shallow bowl with similar colors to the dotty Easter-colored plate, and I think it turned out great. Not sure yet what I’ll do with this, either. Maybe I’ll keep it, maybe I’ll give it away, maybe I’ll sell it. If you want it let me know. Jillian agreed. Since the weather’s been cooler and her bills not as high, she has extra cash this month to spend on a bowl. It’s in my shop for her. Thanks, Jillian!

little crocheted alien

Isn’t this little alien guy cute? I made him in just a couple of hours while I watched TV, using this free-but-you-have-to-register-to-see-it pattern.

Annalie liked the little alien too

Annalie liked him too, and made sure to give him some hugs before we sent him off to his future home.

  2. Oohhhh I covet that butterfly plate big time. It may not have turned out how you hope but its adorable to me.

And so is Annalie. I keep meaning to ask you how you picked her name. I’ve never seen someone named Annalie until your blog, and you know what they say about curiosity and the cat. :)

Ohhhh that butterfly plate is awesome…you are so talented. I might even have to find the money to buy it if it went in your etsy store.

I’m a fan of that shallow bowl. It’s very pretty. Is it just me or do the colors seem….crisper? brighter? cleaner? than the original. I can’t think of a good word for it….

They all turned out so great! Everytime I see one of your dotty creations I think “Man! I gotta go give that a try!”. I still will one of these days.

Such lovely pottery painting, as always. The butterflies came out wonderfully.

Also, the little blue alien you made is just precious! I took my oldest son to the planetarium last Wednesday. He’s obsessed with “space people” these days. He’s convinced that he’s going to ride to the moon on his Saturn V rocket model. He doesn’t quite get the concept of space travel, proportion and the concept of rockets-are-not-public-transportation yet. I just love his imagination. Your alien reminded me of his fascination with all things space.
