California catch-up

November 17th, 2007

Because I was sick part of the time we were in California and didn’t spend much time online, I feel like I am behind schedule. Thank goodness I wasn’t taking as many photos as usual, so I was able to get those edited and posted before we got too far into our Omaha visit. But you can forget hearing lots of great California stories because they are more or less lost in the fog of cold medicine that enveloped me for the better part of a week. The photos will have to speak for themselves. Here are some of my favorites:

Beach tracks

Annalie couldn’t stop asking about these tracks. What made them? Why did trucks drive on the sand? Could we drive on the sand? Why not?

Pass the cheer

Thanks for letting us come have lattes on the beach with you, SAJ & BabyBug! (And Whoorl & Wito! Sorry when I met you I was sick and could hardly talk and was therefore extremely boring. Wito, grow those molars pronto, dude.)

Chocolate sprinkle overload

CC, thanks for bringing those cupcakes so the girls could go crazy with the sprinkles! It was both smart and kind of you to think of something they were all guaranteed to enjoy.

My mom and Annalie

I would have been quite sad to leave California without eating a Number 3 with onions, no tomatoes, fries well done, and a strawberry shake. Thanks, Uncle Bull, for stopping at In-N-Out on the way to drop us off at the airport!

I haven’t really caught up; there are no photos of Annalie and her cousins in the set, because most of the good pictures are on my mom’s camera. There are others, but I’ll have to get those later. We’re in Omaha now and there are only going to be more photos to take and stories to write.

To see the rest of the photos, go to California 11/2007 – a photoset on Flickr.

I just love the way you view the world through your camera…very insightful :o) The pic of Annalie at In and Out Burger is precious! She has that look on her face like someone said something completely unbelieveable and she was saying, “Whaaaaatttt???” Too cute! I’m so happy you had such a great time! Enjoy Omaha, and have a Happy Thanksgiving!

If I was on that beach with Kenny he’d feel the desperate need to kick through all those “sand castle” tire tracks.
