Christmas craft ideas for kids of all ages
December 5th, 2008
I was scrolling through all the fabulous crafting ideas on The Crafty Crow tonight, and was surprised and honored to find that I’ve been featured there again! This time for the Christmas cards Annalie and I made last year.
While I’m mentioning the cards, I thought maybe it would be nice if I put up a quick list of links to the crafty stuff Annalie and I did last year at Christmastime, in case anyone is looking for ideas. In addition to the cards, we made cinnamon-dough ornaments. We might do it again this year, because it was soooo easy and fun to do! Aileen, who received one of our cinnamon ornaments last year, reports that after a year in storage it still smells yummy. And my cousin mentioned that in the past, she and her kids have added nutmeg, cloves, and even ground rosemary to the cinnamon dough!
We also made some salt-dough ornaments as a last-minute gift for Troy and some of Annalie’s friends. Those were especially fun for Annalie because they involved Mod Podge and glitter. We added blue food coloring to the dough, but if you have older kids you can leave the dough a natural color and then paint the baked ornaments before putting a coat of sealer on.
Now if you’ll pardon me, I’ll get back to recovering from the world’s most annoying cold.

I love that last photo of you. It is absolutely wonderful, and the pink glitter only enhances that.
I remember the cards!
Mainly because I pulled mine out of the box today.
:)
Having been one who received one of the beautiful cards, I highly recommend them! ;)
Ahhh yes, the almighty salt dough. I’ve been wanting to make some for at least the last six weeks. I bought my ingredients… and then haven’t really had a sufficient window of quiet time. *sigh*
One of these days!
May have to do some cinnamon dough ornaments, I remember when you blogged them last year and it’s not too late!
Oh wow. I need to get crackin’ on the crafts. I’m still getting over a horrible cold…I can use that as an excuse, right?
