Crocheting winter and spring
December 1st, 2008
I’ve been fighting a cold since we got back from Omaha. It’s not serious, but it’s persistent. I’ve been conserving my energy, sleeping a lot, and not doing much beyond the bare necessities of daily life. That’s why I have not been blogging much. Nothing interesting to take photos of or blog about…except the stuff I’ve been crocheting! I’ve been getting quite a few custom orders through my Etsy shop recently for crocheted snowballs. I just finished up the snowballs Annalie is holding for Nicole.
I also finally finished a custom order for Jennie, who asked me to make a flower scarf months ago. She made the mistake of telling me when she ordered this scarf last spring that she didn’t need it till early December. I took her at her word and put it on the waaaaay-back burner. I promised her I’d have it done on time. And would ya look at that? It’s December 1st and the scarf is done. Whew!

I’m trying to convince Alan that crocheted snowballs would make a great gift for all his nieces and nephews. I can just imagine them throwing them all at each other, a big snowball fight. But Alan never agrees with my choices on gifts.
And plus you don’t have a bazillion made already and how long does it take you to make them? Would you be able to make a bazillion of them if Alan does like the idea? Ok not a bazillion. More like…50. My hands just hurt thinking about that amount.
The scarf is sooo cute.
i would love to have those snowballs as well, but i live in good old germany, so i’m afraid the shipping will cost tooooooooo much…..maybe you can send the instructions, so that i can convince my mom to do some???????????:)
and the scarf is really cute!
hope you’re getting better, soon!

That scarf is adorable. I went to my parents over Thanksgiving and my Mom taught me a little more crochet. I’m excited to get started on more projects!
Super cute pic of her w/ the snowballs… somehow I don’t see that same picture being made in the rainy, 45deg weather in Omaha this last weekend.
LOOOVE the scarf.
My teenagers are having fun tossing snowballs around the house.
These balls are really cute and soooooo easy to make! Thanksssssss
I love love love the flower scarf. Might have to commission one for myself … or learn how to crochet :)
I love your flower scarves. They just make me happy.
I LOVE you snowballs, but alas I can’t think of where to put them, thus I haven’t ordered any :).
I love the scarf! Those crocheted snowballs are cute! I’ve made them but never in white and called them snowballs. Usually I make them as toys for the kids or cats. Cute Cute!
I would kill for an inch of your crafting ability…
I have to say, I just love the scarf. Why oh why didn’t I get it for myself (ha-ha). I have it on good authority that it’s loved and worn often, by the way. You’re the best, Bethany!
That scarf is absolutely gorgeous … I’m so jealous of your crafting abilities.
[...] it for two months? (Let’s not even talk about how long it’s taken me to crochet those flower scarves, or mention that felted bag.) Geesh. The good news is that it’s in my Etsy shop now. [...]
