Day 1 – Winter solstice
December 22nd, 2007
Maybe you’ve noticed the graphic over there on my sidebar? 7 Days started today!
This is the fourth time I’ve participated in 7 Days, though this is the fifth run. I would call it the Winter 2007 run, but there are at least one or two people in the group who live in the Southern Hemisphere, and for them it’s Summer right now. We are a cosmopolitan group.
I was fairly new to Flickr the first time I did 7 Days. I don’t even remember how I found the group in the first place last spring. I guess I found it the same way anyone finds anything on the internet: I clicked a link that led to another link that led to another link that led to the blog of some chick in England. On her site, there was a graphic announcing the upcoming March 2007 run of 7 Days. I clicked on that and joined the group and the rest is history.
The best thing about 7 Days is the comment love. It’s a relatively small group, and the 7Dayers are a talented and witty bunch. It’s no hardship to look at all of the creative self-portraits and think of something to say about most of them, especially since it only lasts for a week. I’ve learned a lot and have even made a few friends.
Not to mention the fact that this will give me something to blog about every day this week.

Whenever anyone asks me my name from now on, I’m going to reply “some chick”. Love it.
I love the lights in your glass door – it looks so neat :)
I was bummed to miss 7days this time around, but I just knew I wouldn’t have reliable computer access. Oh well!
