6/7 - Finishing up Christmas cards

So, yeah. It’s two days after Christmas and I’m still working on writing and sending out our cards. I’m a little puzzled by how I am not freaking out about this, because most years I am really anal about getting them written and mailed by the 20th at the latest. This year…meh. I know they will get done and mailed by New Year’s-ish. And even if they don’t, I am sure people will still be happy to receive a card and photos in the mail.

I’m also still working on getting the rest of our Christmas gifts mailed out, and in some cases, made. The birdseed cookies I mentioned the other day were baked today, and now they’re in the freezer waiting for me to get some twine so we can string them up and then give them to friends. K asked if I would share the recipe for those, and I will, once they’re all done. Just in case anyone else was wondering about them.

Only one more day of 7 days left!

I seriously think I need to learn how the timer on my camera works. I love this shot. You’re such a good navy wife in your navy shirt.

Thank you! But it’s actually a U.S. Embassy shirt, from Ottawa. Troy didn’t actually work there when we lived in Ottawa—he worked in the Louis St. Laurent building across the river in Hull, Quebec—but the Personnel Exchange Program office was in the embassy, as was the post office where we could send mail to the U.S. without having to deal with customs. Also, there was a duty-free shop where we could buy wine and liquor for much cheaper than in the LCBO stores, so we were popular with our Canadian friends. ;-)
