Day 7 - chatting with Bonnie while the kids zoomed around

Bonnie and her kids came over to see our house and hang out for a little while today. It was kind of an accident that we saw each other three times this week. The movie on Sunday and painting yesterday were spur-of-the-moment; today’s visit was the only one that was planned in advance. What I’m saying is, I can’t promise that my 7 Days photos next December will be so Bonnieriffic.

As we sat on the couch chatting while children ran crazily around the house, playing some elaborate game, I thought of Summer’s ghostly shot from earlier this week, and thought it would be fun to try to get a shot of me and Bonnie sitting still with a blur of children streaking past us and up the stairs.

I explained my idea to everyone, and all the kids thought it sounded cool and got really into it. They happily stuck with it through several shots, adjusting their speeds and following directions perfectly. In the end, I had to combine two photos to get a good result, which you can see if you look carefully at the bookcase and the curtains. But it’s still fun.

Ssshhh, it's naptime.

My alternate shot, of naptime today. It was a tiring week.

Last night the sunset started out golden and ended up setting the sky on fire. It was beautiful.
