Day 7 – My Funky Camera wrist strap

I never liked carrying my Nikon on its neck strap, and was forever wrapping the long strap awkwardly around my hand. When I saw one of these cool wrist straps on someone’s Flickr stream (I can’t remember whose, now) I immediately went to My Funky Camera and bought one. I love it!
This was kind of a weird week for me, self-portrait-wise. We were traveling and I had two different meet-ups and then at the end of the week Annalie was sick. I feel like a lot of my shots were less, “What cool self-portrait can I take?” and more, “Well, this’ll work since I didn’t get anything better.” And although I’ve been commenting when I can, I’ve missed at least half the photos in the pool. And I love commenting! Without that, it barely feels like a 7 Days week at all.
Earlier today I took this photo, thinking it was going to be representative of my day. See Annalie in the background, snuggled up with the portable DVD player? That’s how she spent much of the day. Even though it sucked that she was sick while we’re on vacation and we had to miss a day of visiting with our friends, I’m glad we happened to be at a hotel, instead of at our friends’ house like last time. The day of rest did us all good, and by bedtime Annalie was feeling much better.
She was feeling so much better, in fact, that when I asked her after her bath if she wanted to take a photo for 7 Days, she cheerfully said, “Sure! I’ll show everyone my new monkey pajamas, and I’ll make a silly face!”

You know what I love so much about you and your blog? This- Even though it sucked that she was sick while we’re on vacation and we had to miss a day of visiting with our friends, I’m glad we happened to be at a hotel, instead of at our friends’ house like last time.
No matter what happens, no matter who is sick or how plans get changed you always, always find a bright side to it. Annalie’s sick? That’s okay, at least we’re at a hotel. Plans were changed? That’s okay, cause look what awesome things we got to do instead! I just love it. We would all do well to follow your example a little more.
Hope today is much better! I love Annalie’s monkey jammies.
A wrist strap, what a good idea. I’m always constantly wrapping the neck strap awkwardly around my hand too. But Alan would miss our neck strap because he does use it.
And this 7 days has been weird for me too. I’m having a hard time looking at all the photos much less taking them all. I didn’t get past day 5.
Sorry to hear Annalie has been sick, Brett and Leo are a little sick right now too. Seems they pick something up everywhere they go.
Just looked at the camera site, cool stuff and I saw your picture there, Surprise! If you need a Christmas idea for me, a neck strap would be a good one since mine isn’t very comfortable :)
Looks like you guys have been very busy with your travels. Sorry that Annalie got sick, but like you said better at a hotel than at someone else’s house. Hope she is much better today and you guys are back on the road.
Funky camera strap, I was looking at some smaller ones too. Although I do use my neck strap, it is a pain in my neck ;).
Oh yes, there’s quite an improvement in Annalie’s perkiness between the second and third photos! I’m glad she was soon feeling better.
