Hey Bethany, I’m in Omaha right now – but just here ’till Thurs and I’ll be occupied the whole time. But who knows, maybe we’ll run into each other…or at least we can think good thoughts for each other, knowing we are both in our hometown again. (P.S. I drove by Gesthemane Lutheran Church a few hours ago on 108th and Maple – thought of you).

This is a lovely time of year in Omaha. Glad to be here.

I love visiting farms and enjoying farm fresh ingredients. We don’t have the same opportunities to visit farms as we did as kids, most of the farmers we knew have all moved on.

Yep – looks like pyrite (FeS2). I am not sure about the rock it is sitting in – kinda looks like limestone (which forms in shallow oceans and very common in the midwest). But who knows! Shhh don’t tell Annalie, but I got her a kiddie hand lens. I meant to bring her a cool rock too, but I don’t think that made it into the suit case.
