defuzzing my memory
November 25th, 2008
The other evening when I was sitting in our library at my desk writing this post, Annalie wandered in. She found paper, a hole puncher, a marker and some glue before pulling the upside-down laundry hamper over to the desk and climbing up. She sat there messing around and talking with me as I typed. It was such a lovely moment, especially welcome considering the rough day I’d had.
I wanted to capture the moment. Out came the camera.
Eventually Annalie got bored with the paper and hole puncher. I was reluctant to let the moment of quiet accord end, so I offered to make her a tent next to the desk so she could play while I worked. She ran off to her room to find her flashlight, and came back in her nightgown with a bag full of books and toys. She played quietly for another half-hour, occasionally popping her head out to ask me a question or just to grin at me. I drank my coffee and finished my post and enjoyed hanging out with my daughter.
Another moment to capture. I’m so glad I take photos as often as I do. These tiny moments will be fuzzy memories before we know it.

so glad you had the moment, and tents rock! thanks for the reminder :). hope it’s not a rough day today …
That first photo is almost as if you had an angel (if angels perched on laundry baskets – which I’m prone to think they do) come and sit watch while you were online. :)
Of course, she IS an angel, but I was thinking more of the ethereal type.
A tent with a tiffany lamp… classy!
I love that first photo as well. Sigh…
