Dots and zigzags?

February 29th, 2008

What do you think?

I had an idea for a crocheted Easter basket, similar to the pumpkins I made at Halloween. I’m debating adding a thin pink zigzag between the orange and blue, and maybe some orange dots evenly spaced between the blue and the bottom—kinda like a painted Easter egg. Or would that be overkill? What do you think?

I like it just the way it is! Beautiful and very Eastery!

I think overkill is just the way to go. Fancy easter eggs are the best!

(But it is also lovely the way it is.)

Oh I think it needs the extra stuff to be Easter eggish. Go for it! It sounds adorable!

I thinks it’s awesome just as it is, but I also like the idea of the zigs and dots. What I want to know is, can I have one?

I vote for embellishments…but…it is completely adorable and very spring-like!

It looks good, but I think it could totally stand a bunch of dots and zigzag!
(I think “less is more” is such a lie!!!)

I love it, I already commented over on flickr. I wouldn’t change it but if you are going to make more you could do a variety ;).

It’s Eastery as it is, and it could be used as a summer-like tote too.

But if you wanna make it extra Eastery, go for the pink zigzag — it’d be perfectly egg-ish :)

Thanks for the input, everyone! I think I’m gonna go for the more-is-more zigzags and dots, at least on this one. :-)

What a great idea…an easter basket that can be a kid beach/pool bag for later. I like the stripes.

I responded on flickr first, sorry.

I do think that zig zags and polka dots are great for Easter, but I think if the bag is to last beyond that, you might want to leave it off.

how awesome! Can you email the pattern you used? and I like it the way it is…however, try making one with the zig zag and compare them :-)

That is one super-cute bag! It makes me want to learn how to crochet!

I like it the way it is but I’m a pretty plain person :)
