mug for OneScrappyGal

I love love LOVE it when people give me fantastic custom orders like this. Aileen told me what she wanted the mug to say, gave me some ideas for color, and set me loose. I am really happy with how this one turned out!

I trust Aileen’s husband does not read my blog so the surprise won’t be ruined here. I hope. It’s in my etsy shop for you whenever you’re ready, Aileen!

pink & green funky dotty dish

Karen asked me to paint this so she could have a place at work to stash her lip balm and pocket change and keys so they don’t get lost on her desk. It’s in my etsy shop whenever you’re ready. Thanks for your purchase, Karen! I’ll ship it right out to you.

happy birthday plate

This is something a bit different from my usual pottery. It was really fun to paint with my new super-fine paintbrushes, and I love how it’s colorful but not aggressively bright. This one is in my etsy shop, but I might have to paint another one for myself to keep. The inner border is kind of hard to read in this photo, so I’ll tell you that it says, “Happy birthday to you! – Feliz Cumpleaños! – Many happy returns! – Make a wish – Happy Day of Cake! – How many candles?” (Props go to Kerri for the phrase “Happy Day of Cake.”)

radioactive cake

Isn’t this cake BRIGHT? Brenda said it looked radioactive. I assure you it’s not toxic, though. I just used gel food coloring in the batter, and baking makes the color even brighter. It’s pretty though, isn’t it?

orange fizz-pop party!caaaaake!Audreyorange fizz-pop party!

I made this radioactive mini-cake made for Brenda’s pretend orange fizz-pop party photoshoot. She had been dreaming up a fake orange pop party for ages, and we finally had the change to stage it so she could take photos for her mom’s Etsy shop. Party in a Box, coming soon!

I love your dottery. I may have to talk to my husband about something for my next Gift Day (Anniversary, Christmas, Valentine’s, Birthday, etc)

  2. Melissa says:

Every time you post a new piece of dottery, you get me wanting my very own piece to have and hold! You may be hearing from me soon…

I agree with SAJ, that cake does look radioactive! Very ’80s da-glo, which sort of appeals to me. ;) I’ve already snatched my dottery out of your Etsy shop – thanks! When it gets here, I’ll send you an action shot.

Love it all! The little dish is adorable. I love how you used two shades of pink in the dots. And the cake looks delish and so much fun.

I’m so jealous! Everyone is getting those footed bowls besides me! I went to my local studio yesterday and searched through her catalogs and couldn’t find one. Let me know if your studio still has some. I’d love another Bethany Original!

Your dottery is just the cutest! I’ve never seen anything like it!

I’m in the midst of planning my daughter’s party and I’m just loving that cake!!!

Oh my! I was just telling my good friend Stacey(aka Zameander) that you and Brenda were basically us. Heehee. We also plan and scheme for parties and planning and making kits and parties in boxes. Bug had the green party and Za had the pink party and I can’t help but think we all need to be friends! Hee-hee! That cake looks awesome. Positively awesome!

  8. I love the pink cake idea. My mom used to use food coloring in our cakes and cupcakes all the time when we were kids. Great memories =)

I love the change bowl, great idea and I love how the colours overlap each other.

And the Orange Fizz Party is fantastic. I love the radioactive cake, reminds me of some pink meringues I made one year for my Mom, they were a little too pink to me.

  12. I love the mug Bethany! It’s wonderful and exactly what I had envisioned. He’s going to love drinking out of it when he’s all alone in NH. Hmm… I love it TOO much. Maybe I should keep it for me? Not tell him anything about it? Pretend “Daddy” is a cool nickname I gave myself? Hmmm…

Love your Etsy posting for this too! I have joined the ranks of favorite customer. WOO HOO! Eat my dust people! :)

Have a happy memorial day weekend and thanks again for doing this for me. YOU ROCK!!

Oh man! I saw that mug in a bag the other day and thought it was for me. I thought I had accidentally found a present. I guess not :-(
