You know what I love? I love it when someone emails me out of the blue with a custom pottery-painting request, and asks me to use certain colors, gives me a general idea of what she might like, and then says, “It’s all about dots…I cordially invite you to let the Mug Muse be your guide.” Because that means I get to be all creative and totally have a blast painting something like this:

Dotty Circles 'Be Happy' Mug

The mug is in my Etsy shop now, Schnozz! Thanks for giving me an excuse to go nuts with the dots.

I also recently painted this tiny Gumball bowl:

Little Gumball bowl

Of all the things I’m going to miss when we move in a month, our local pottery-painting place it near the top of the list. I know there are other such places, but our one is awesome, with reasonable prices and a lovely owner and helpful staff and a laid-back attitude about allowing small children to paint and make a mess and a lot of noise.

I’m hoping we’ll get the chance to go paint at least a couple more times before we leave.

SO cute! (Both the mug and the bowl.)

Any idea yet where you’ll be transferring to?

Weeee! You have a post on my lunch break!

Dotty goodness is fabulous – and I’m sure anyone will be happy with that one.

And what else? OH! Well, you had better map out your next home because I’m NO WHERE NEAR one of those fabulous pottery painting places and honestly, I would really like to be.

Though that might not be good for the family budget.

Ok… That’s the most awesome mug ever! Are you still accepting custom orders by any chance?

I’m wearing your headband right now!!! :-) I love it!

I’ve always envied you that pottery painting shop. If I had one near me I have a feeling friends and family would get nothing but ceramics come Christmas and birthdays!

The owner of this mug automatically wins at life. I can’t believe the owner is ME!

Love that mug. Even if I did happen to visit one of the paint your own pottery places here, I highly doubt that my mug would turn out anything like your mug. It is just so springy and would certainly look great filled with coffee.
