Featuring…me

January 5th, 2009

My friend Cindy over at citystreams was recently inspired to start a Featuring You interview section to get to know some of her favorite bloggers better. I met Cindy over a year ago when we were partners in the Shades of Red Swaparooni on Flickr right before her daughter was born. That inspired me to crochet what is one of my favorite blankets that I’ve ever made.

The DVD is there for scale.

Cindy has been one of my faithful readers from the very beginning of my blog. She’s smart, funny, a mom, a teacher, the wife of a police officer (which is a lot like being married to someone in the military), and a Christian whose faith shines through in the way she lives her life. She has become a good friend over the past year. I was happy to do an interview for her. You can check out my interview if you like. If you leave a comment, tell Cindy I said hello!

You are a great interviewee! It’s always so interesting to read about other people’s lives. Sorry to hear about your crappy guidance counselor! As a guidance counselor myself, it always makes me sad to hear people had less than stellar experiences with theirs. Hopefully, my students won’t say that about me someday, at least not too many of them…yikes! ;-) But I’m gonna put on my boring counselor hat to make one clarification – there are 3 different types of NMSP scholarships but only the college-sponsored ones require that you have to attend the college you list (i.e. their college). But you’re right, as a finalist, you would have been very appealing to many a school across the country and could of had your pick. Alas, it was God’s will that you end up at UNL, meet Troy and yada yada yada – live happily ever after in Bethany Actually land! ;-)

  3. That was a fun interview, I love reading things about you because it always seems I find more things we share in common. It cracks me up that both you and Troy and my husband and I hung out so much prompting people to ask if we’re dating, so then things progressed into dating.

And your work makes me think I should learn how to crochet. Lately I’ve been feeling like I want to learn that or knitting… maybe I’m just feeling the need for some kind of project that is away from my computer!

  4. That blanket is fantastic!
