It’s beginning to look a lot like Annalie’s birthday

Annalie’s birthday is less than a week away! She will turn four on May 9th. She’s already gotten one early present, from her friends Christian and Anna. Her birthday happens to be a Friday this year, which is our playgroup day, so this year she gets to have her party on her actual birthday. She chose to have her party at the JumpYard, which is one of those places filled with a bunch of inflatable slides and bounce houses and such. We’ll play there for a while, then go to a nearby park for lunch and cake and presents.
I knew I had photos of Annalie jumping, so I found as many as I could for her invitation, and I’m really pleased with how it turned out. Making the invitation and thinking about the lunch menu has got me in the birthday mood! It’s gonna be fun, even though Troy has to miss her birthday this year. I can sympathize, since the first two years we were married, Troy was gone on our anniversary AND my birthday. I don’t think Annalie will mind too much, though. She misses her daddy, but overall she’s taking his extended absence in stride. And will probably do so even more now that Gramaw is here for a visit.
But I’ll write more about that later. It’s past my bedtime, so for now I’ll leave you with this video of 2.5-year-old Annalie talking about how her birthday is coming RIGHT up, even though it was actually seven months away at the time this was shot. (The other voices you hear besides mine are Annalie’s Grandma Carol and Grandpa Tom.)

I love the card! I also love enjoying getting photos of J jumping. Nothing like a good action shot. And J is already talking of his birthday which is not until August and ever week he changes what he wants to do for his birthday, so it will be challenging to get it right. I like the idea of a Jump Yard, that would be very cool.
Sorry Troy will be away, but hopefully Annalie can have a special day with him when he gets back.
