Like mother like daughter
August 26th, 2008
I just got an email from my mom with a photo attached. I had to share them both.
Hi Bethany,
I just saw your post & it reminded me of a photo of you. This photo was dated Aug (!) 1978 and I wrote on the back that you did it all by yourself. You were 3 1/2.
Funny, huh? Did you remember this photo?
Love,
Mom

To answer my mom’s question, when I wrote the post about Annalie I had a sort of vague memory of this photo and the fleeting thought that I should ask my mom about it…but then I got distracted and moved on to cleaning the cats’ litterboxes, or something. Thanks for having such well-organized photo albums, Mom! :-)

if it weren’t for the long hair I would *swear* this was Annalie, how funny/cute! :)

ohmygoodness! That is the coolest/cutest thing ever. I LOVE your mom.

Wow, check out the resemblance! Annalie looks so much like you. :)

That is so great that your Mom sent you that picture! What did Annalie have to say about it?

How sweet - you two definitely look alike! Mom’s are so funny like that… pulling stuff out of nowhwere to surprise you and make you love them even more.

I’ve long suspected Annalie looks a lot like you did as a girl - something about her eyes and the shape of her chin - but I never realized she was a clone! :) I love the dress you’re wearing - it’s totally cute!

Oh my goodness: I am stunned by the ressemblance! Annalie is such a mini-you!
Look at you showing a little leg :)

It is so cool that your daughter looks so much like you! My girls really don’t resemble at all.
August 27th, 2008 at 7:52 am
Haha! Look how cute you are! Both of you!

That is SO CUTE - I love that your mom remembered the photo!
(also, that dress is very, very stylish ;) )

Oh that is so cute!!!
This reminds me of this one time….my dad was napping and I went to town with his hair. I should dig up a photo of that one.
I love Annalies hair in the last post too, way too cute, totally a trend setter!!

I love this! Like mother, like daughter INDEED.

Oh, Bethany! That is priceless!
When I was little, I called my pacifier my “bapper.” Everyone makes fun of me for it (and has all my life, I swear) so I didn’t call it a “bapper” for my daughter, it was simpy a pacifier. One day, we’re sitting in the front room and she’s wandering around looking for her “bapper.” All on her own.
Funny the similarities in actions - let alone looks (my goodness, Annalie DOES look just like you!) - from parent to child.

Hahaha! That’s so awesome.
Now you need to make a scrapbook page - and I know some people freak out at the word “scrapbook” so let me specify what I mean by that: take a white piece of cardstock (or colored if you want) and some photo corners or “splits” (which is like doublesided tape squares, but acid free), and a copy of this photo and the one(s) from the other day, and put them next to each other on the paper, and then write the story underneath. (Or print what you have on the blog entries and then adhere the photos.) And you’re done. Well, put it in an album. Or, you can use a regular photo album and just include a 4×6 piece of paper in one of the slots with the story written on it. See, you’ve already done it, just having a hard copy would be nice, in case of crashes or power outages or EMPs or whatever. I’m not paranoid at all. Or bossy. ;)

I wish it were acceptable for adults to wear plastic barrettes.

That picture is SOOOO awesome! LOL…it is incredible how much you and Annalie look alike. I bet Annalie’s reaction to the photo was just as adorable :-)

It never struck me how much she looks like you until I saw that picture. I thought it was Annalie at first until I read the caption.

OMG! I can’t believe how much Annalie looks like you. How adorable!

Man, I was a tomboy growing up. Does that mean if I have a daughter she’s going to be playing football?
August 28th, 2008 at 10:12 am
My reaction was pretty much the same as all of yours: WOW, my kid looks like me! On a day-to-day basis I don’t see that much of me in her, I see more of Troy and my brother. But when I look at old photos of myself, I definitely see that Annalie looks a lot like me.

We totally had that same furniture when I was growing up.
Love the picture. You both are too cute.
