Mostly-mute Monday

May 12th, 2008

I have a couple of posts in my head but I have a headache. So, with apologies to Brenda for being a copycat, here are some photos of Annalie playing in the sandbox a few days ago.

Jump

Landing

Airborne

Sand through her fingers

Grains

Balancing

Poised

Bounce

These photos were taken the day she got her very first wood tick, on her tummy a couple of inches above her right leg. We were able to easily pull it off with tweezers. Annalie named the bug Tick-Tack; waved and shouted, “Good-bye, Tick-Tack!” as I dropped it in the toilet and flushed (I know you’re supposed to keep the tick in a jar of rubbing alcohol for the doctor, but I didn’t have any rubbing alcohol); and made up stories about Tick-Tack while she was taking her bath. I think it’s safe to say she wasn’t traumatized.

    First, I love the shirt.
Next, we are supposed to KEEP TICKS? Oh crap, because we find about 5 a week and at least 1 of them are on one of my kids…so, um… that’d be a jarful.

My kids would love a sandbox. It has been on our list for a while, but seeing as how they have a a HILL of MUD at my grandparents’ home we didn’t think it necessary!

She looks like she’s having a blast.

It sounds like I was more traumatized from reading “wood tick” than she was. I want that four-year-old’s nerves!

Ha ha I have a lot of stories about wood ticks, yeck. However I have never heard of keeping them in rubbing alcohol for the Dr. We always rip off theirs heads or flush them. Such pesky critters!

    The pictures, fantastic!

And we got the headband today in the mail. We love it!!!! I haven’t had a chance yet to wear it since Kaitlyn thinks it is hers. It is so soft and the color so perfect, thank you BA!!!

I had my first tick after my mom changed my diaper somewhere in the forest on a walk. I wasn’t traumatized either. :)
    I love Annalie’s levitating skills…

Great actions shots! I love the green.

But, ewww the tick. That just freaks me right out. Can you see them? Or do you just feel them? Ack!

That girl really likes to jump. I see a future long/high jumper. :)

Maybe the tick was attracted to the bug T-shirt? ;-)
