Name game

December 20th, 2007

“I love my pet turtle,” Annalie announced while cuddling a blue plastic sea turtle.

“Oh, is that your pet turtle?” I asked, only half-paying attention.

“Yeah. His name is Cocoa.” That got the other half of my attention, and surprised a laugh out of me.

“That’s a great name for a turtle!”

“Yeah, it’s like hot cocoa! Except you don’t drink him.”

Sometimes I only half read words and think I read them….I thought the post below this one was ‘no more welding’…..and just couldn’t find the connection to the wedding part, ha, ha, I am such a smuck!

This is too cute! My oldest and I have similar dialogs all the time. Preschoolers keep life interesting, don’t they?!

Oh, and he has a turtle tub toy that he tries to drink out of all. the. time. Your post reminded me of that! If find myself saying, “Quit drinking bath water! Yucky!” And his reply is, “But it’s like a cup so I must drink!” **sigh**
