100 is one of my favorite things to do!

Thank you very much for your comment on my blog. Brave of you to write it in Dutch. You don’t need to do that though because I know a little bit English.

We had so much fun making the Christmas Cards. All the people we sent one liked them very much. So actually I have to thank you (and I am a bit ashamed that I didn’t do that sooner).

Your blog is lovely and I think I will visit it more often in the future.

I also want to wish you Happy New Year!!

  3. Kuky says:

That was fun to read. What did you play in the band and why were you in the newspaper?

  4. I played flute and sang in a praise band at my church in high school. My picture was in the newspaper once in college, when a reporter for the Omaha World-Herald was on campus looking for “examples of college fashion.” (See this photo—I’ll blog the whole story one day!) I also had a short story published in the North Omaha Star (a small newspaper that doesn’t exist anymore) when I was 6 years old, about Santa getting kids’ Christmas wish lists mixed up.

    How/why do you know Russian?

  6. I know Russian because it was offered as a foreign language at my high school. I also studied it a little in college. I’m part Lithuanian, and I figured Russian was the closest I’d get to that. :-) I don’t remember everything I used to know, of course, but if I ever went to Russia I would be able to read menus and follow road signs and communicate at a very basic level.

Awesome. You and I have done quite a few similar things. Can I say, if you have done a solo you are so ready for Karaoke ;).

  8. Yep, I’ve sung many solos, both in voice recitals and at church. I don’t really have the right kind of voice for solos—I sound better if I’m singing with at least one other person, I think—but I don’t mind them.

That said, I have never sung karaoke because (1) I guess I don’t hang out in the right places, because I don’t think I’ve ever been somewhere karaoke was an option, and (2) I don’t like being the center of attention. Singing a solo in church is different because it’s part of a worship service. I don’t mind that so much for some reason. Maybe because people aren’t clapping when I’m done? :-)

  9. Deborah says:

You’ve NEVER been stung by a bee????? Wow.

So…when you decide to get around to doing #51 & #72, please promise you will call me first! These are ironically two of my very favourite things to do! =)

Great…now I can’t get the “Favourite Things” song from the Sound of Music outta my head…

  10. Ha. I almost titled this post, “Number 51 will never happen.” But I’d be okay with snorkeling. It’s scuba diving that gives me the willies. Number 72, however, I can’t quite believe I’ve never done! I’ve done enough sewing and have even crocheted quilt patterns before, but I’ve never made an actual quilt.

Oh, and nope, I’ve never been stung by a bee. My dad and several other members of my extended family are allergic to bees, so I hope I never get stung by one.

“…bright copper kettles and warm woollen mittens, brown paper packages tied up with string…”

Very cool! I had to try it for myself! ~

What a great list! I took Russian in college – if we ever meet, we’ll have to impress everyone around us with a quick exchange in Russian about playing chess (the only thing I remember).

    Happy New Year!

  13. nicole says:

    Happy New Year.
I did your list on my blog. Check it!

  14. Tomorrow I’m might try this list.

    Something easy.

There are some things I’m pretty sure I won’t be doing that you did. I’m too chicken.

  15. Numbers Guy says:

What a great list. I’ve done a fair few on there – most of the ones that center on the USA I haven’t done. Life is too short I guess.
