Oh, how I miss fall here. Even though it’s mid-November, many of the trees still have leaves and those leaves are a riot of autumn colors. But there are also plenty of leaves on the ground, ready to be crunched.
Thirty-six fifty-pound leaf bags later (and only three of four yards raked), I’m here to say that fall may be pretty but it would take an awful lot of ugly for me to miss the riotous raking blisters on my thumbs…
When I was little I lived in Illinois, I used to love crunching the leaves on the ground and jumping in piles of leaves after my dad had spent so much time raking them up. Moving to desert regions was strange to me at first, I miss seeing the masses of leaves. But I find lots of things beautiful in this area too.

Ha ha! SAJ - I was just going to comment on “riot” as well and then saw you had covered it for me!
We have a riot going on here, too, B, but it has not stopped raining in over a week so there is no crunching! Squishy riot!

Do you miss the snow too? Come just a wee bit farther north, my dear. :)

That is one of my favourite Fall things, crunchy leaves. Reminds me of Fall as a child and playing outside.

FALL FALL FALL.
It’s the one time of year that I stop hating Minnesota.
And I love your shoes.

The leaves never have time to get crunchy here…just wet and slippery. Then the clog the street drains and flood the street.

I went to Omaha for the FIRST time in December of last year. I didn’t know that it could be that cold!! This silly Texas girl was not prepared!

[...] I do miss fall in Nebraska, I have to admit that fall in Southern California has its perks. Green, green grass and flip-flops [...]
