random Annalieisms

“My sures are the surest of all sures!”
“Time machines aren’t real, silly. If they were, everyone would have time machines instead of cars.”
after getting hit in the eye with a jet of water from a splash fountain: “Curse that blasted water!”
“Mama, your hair looks very pretty today, all nice and foofy. It looks like princess hair!”
Today at Target Gramaw bought Annalie a toy, and Annalie wanted to go home immediately so she could play with it. I explained that we weren’t ready to go yet, but that we’d be going home as soon as we picked up a few more things. Annalie started to get upset, and I told her if she was going to throw a fit about the toy, we could just put it back. Annalie quickly said, “No, I don’t wanna put it back!”
“Well,” I replied, “then take some deep breaths, pull yourself together, and we’ll finish our shopping quickly.”
Annalie took a deep breath, crossed her arms over her stomach, and scrunched up her face. I asked if she was okay. She scowled harder and said, “Pulling myself together feels a lot like PAIN!”
My mom and I both cracked up and told her that was pretty funny. She laughed too, and we finished our shopping without further incident. I love that my kid would rather laugh than be angry.

i love it and intend to now use it regularly! that girl of yours must be such a joy to have around. and she’s right, pulling yourself together does feel a lot like pain. :)
