I was clearing off the counter in preparation for lunch when Annalie wandered through the kitchen. She spied the can of tuna and said, “Oh, tuna for lunch? Cool!”

I gestured to the piece of cardboard shaped like a bracket —> [, an insert from a shipping box, sitting next to the tuna. I said, “You can have that if you want it, to draw on or play with.”

She immediately said, “Play with!” then picked it up and flipped it so that the two short legs were down and the flat surface was up. She grabbed her kitten and said, “C’mon, Sparkle, I have a table for you! Let’s go have a picnic.”

  1. Sweeeeet. Also; major points to you for being so perceptive and giving her the opportunity to play with the cardboard in the first place!
