Stalking Secret Agent Josephine

November 6th, 2007

Did you know I am a stalker? According to SAJ I am. No, she is teasing when she calls me that. And I don’t think I qualify as a stalker anymore once I’ve been invited to lunch.

Two of my favorite bloggers

Today, I met two of my favorite bloggers, and the first internet friends I’ve met in real life: SAJ and Comfortably Crazy. SAJ grew up a couple of towns over from where my California relatives live, and her parents still live there. So does CC, who happens to be SAJ’s sister-in-law. So while SAJ was in the sticks for a visit, we arranged to have lunch together.

We had Mexican food and then went to the park so the kids could play (and dig for earthworms–fun!) while we chatted. I admit that I was a little nervous about seeing them in person for the first time. Even though I’ve been reading both their blogs for over a year and have exchanged emails and chatted on instant messenger with both of them, it was still weird to think that these people were soon going to be sitting across the table from me at Frijoles eating chips and salsa.

But you know what? From the moment SAJ greeted me with, “It’s my stalker!” I felt totally at ease. They might have existed only on the internet to me until today, but they were already my friends. I’m looking forward to the next time we meet, and maybe someday meeting more of you internet people. I trust you are all as wonderful in person as SAJ & CC.

It was fun! You mom is great too. I felt like I’d known you guys since forever. Now if we can just get you to move to California…

Do you have to have a blog to attend Blogher, asks the blogerless girl (at first glance “blogerless” looked like boogerless – teehee)…I want to meet you all too! The pics are all just soooo cute! How fun!

What a fun day. A great new way for moms to make new friends. And to find out that your own moms live to close together. Do you ever wonder if you ever met in real life back then?

No, we probably never met. My mom grew up in Banning, but she moved to Omaha when she married my dad and has lived there ever since. We are all in California visiting family. When I was growing up I spent time in Banning and Beaumont with relatives, but the only time we ever went to SAJ & CC’s town was to go to In-N-Out or Target. :-)

I need a stalker! Preferably one who is not too terribly scary. Many thanks!

Awesome! And did you get highlights? Because your hair, it looks fabulous. *narrows eyes* you snuck in a Whoorl
    consultation, didn’t you?
I’m teasing, you couldn’t have kept that to yourself haha.

Well, thanks! No, no Whoorl consultation, no new highlights. I just got a haircut, though, and that probably made the old highlights look fresh.

  9. Carrie says:

I’m jealous! I wish I could have been there. How fun!
