How exciting! I love to read and that was one of the first things that my parents, especially my dad, made sure his kids had when we moved to a new place: a library card. I remember very regular summer trips to the library to pick up books.

Since I've lived in the same city for 18 years now it's cute that one of the librarians still remembers the 11 year old me who would always borrow the maximum number of books!

I'm sure Annalie will be a book lover for life!

That is so great! It warms my heart to hear about kids who like and WANT to read. I knew a couple kids whom I would give books to and their mom told me after a couple gift giving moments that her "kids had enough books, they don't need anymore." Kids always need books! YAY Annalie!

When I got my Monmouth City Library card, I was so excited. They have a Klickitat Street sign inside, and it was then I learned that I live in the same neck of the woods as Ramona Quimby, one of my favorite childhood characters.

I'm not going to tell you how long ago it was that I got my first library card. Let's just say.... it had a metal plate in it.

My kids had multiple library cards. My parents lived part-time in Kansas, so they had a library card to that small town library.

When we'd go to the beach, I would tell my youngest daughter, who is now 23, that she could get a library card from Cannon Beach! That was always our little joke.

Yay for library cards!

I still have my first library card, signed in my very careful and a little difficult to read little girl printing. It was the first spark in my passion for reading - hooray for Annalie! She's started on a great adventure with books.
