the Chuck party!
January 14th, 2010
I guess I’m not a very good Chuck fan. I neglected to mention on Twitter, Facebook AND my blog that the two-hour Season 3 premiere of Chuck was this past Sunday, and that another episode aired at the regular time on Monday, on NBC. So, um, watch Chuck next Monday!
I have good reasons for not mentioning it though. I was busy enjoying the last few days of my visit with Lauren, who sadly had to fly back home before the Chuck party.
Then I was getting ready for the Chuck party. We grocery-shopped and made magnets and put together some goodies for the party favor bags.
We got t-shirts made with the awesome graphic that Brenda designed. She also designed the bitmap art (inspired by the Chuck opening credits) for the favor bags.
We did some house-cleaning and some cooking.
Then there was the actual partying, woohoo! Along with me, my mom, Annalie and Brenda, Sonja and Noah, Jen and Emily, Heather and her girls, and Brenda’s mom Sue all came down for the Chuckaganza. (Troy came up with that one.)
We showed off our kung fu moves.
Then there were the mustaches. Oh, the crazy mustaches. I think Brenda came up with the idea, and then I said, “I have this cheap felt that’s been sitting in my cabinet forever…here, cut up some mustaches!” We got double-sided tape and the rest is history. Much to Sonja’s delight.
No one—and no thing was safe from Sonja’s mustache-ing fervor.
See? There were also mustaches on the kitchen trash can, Annalie’s piggy bank, and a drawing of a teddy bear taped up in the hallway. Though I think the trash can might have been Brenda’s doing.
And after we put the littles to bed, we settled down with our coffee and chocolate souffles to watch the two-hour premiere. It was, in a word, awesome. The episode that aired the next night was even better. I think this is gonna be a good season for Chuck. I’m so glad I discovered this show (thanks again, Mike!) and have been able to share the fun with so many other people.
Not to mention the mustaches.

If you want to catch up on Chuck, you can see the first three episodes of this season, plus the last few of Season 2, on NBC Video Rewind. A few more are available on TheWB.com.

Excellent party!
If NBC had been more organised, I totally would have extended my stay until the monday so I could party on with you all.
It looks like I missed out on an AWESOME day!
That looks like an awesome party! Love the goodie bags and t-shirts. Brenda is to talented. I really want to eat some chocolate souffle too. Do you have a recipe for that to share? They look amazing!
Looks like a great time! I’m a sucker for faux mustaches as well :-)
Oh.. I completely forgot to comment on the mustaches before. I am in LOVE! My roomie got a stick on mustache in a candy machine before NYE and I got a kick out of wearing it around that evening. :) Love it!
So much fun! And even funnier about the mustaches is that Casey used one in Monday night’s episode – I know that gave you much delight. Your party looks awesome. Thanks for being a relentless Chuck fan! You inspired me to watch, and it’s our new favorite show. And Zachary Levi is totally my BOYFRIEND.
Looks like a blast!! Love it!!
I just want to state for the record that I had nothing to do with the Chuckstache on the piggy bank and the drawing. I did put one on Brenda’s laptop though…
It looks like sooo much fun! I was sad not to see your mom in all the pics & not sporting the cool new t-shirt, but releived at the end, that she does, in fact exist!
Every show would be lucky to have fans like you!
This is so awesome! I love the whole theme idea, I love the favors, the photos… it all just looks like so much fun! Nice work!
The party was a lot of fun. Also, Erin, I did take a couple of the photos posted here so I really was there!! :-)
Yes, Debbie, but did you wear a mustache?! Ha hahah!
just brilliant!
I let the teenagers stay up until 11 on Sunday night so they could see the whole show…and then we didn’t wake up until 10 minutes before high school started!!! Tardy!!!
I just about screamed at the end of Mondays show. I am sure glad they showed previews for next weeks show.
We’ve watched this show from the very beginning. We DVR’d the Syfy marathon Thursday and got completely reaquanted with the storyline.
Please! Won’t you come be MY Social Director? What an awesome party!
Yes, Monday was way better and thank goodness they showed the next week’s preview…
I love how you girls did all those kung fu shots! :-D
Aw man, looks like it was fun!
I had a blast with you guys. So did Clarabelle. The pictures are making me giggle, tee hee.
You guys really know how to throw a party! It all looks like so much fun. But really, when you’ve got fake moustaches, how can you go wrong?
I love your party!! I thought of calling you while I was watching the premier (not sure what time it was on for you, but I would have caught you in the festivities) but realized that I may interrupt your premier watching. My party was much more subdued and well lonely as it was just me. I watched it again on Monday too, I do love Chuck. Was laughing myself silly with his new kung-fu moves, looks like a great time was had by all.
I’m a HORRIBLE fiancee – Bill asked if he could watch Chuck on Monday and I told him no, because The Bachelor was on.
Oh my word. That’s AMAZING! Definitely a really really cool idea. I just watched it on my couch. By myself. Haha! But I LOVED it!
ps. I have the same little tripod and I love it!
Bethany-
I’m 4 minutes into the Chuck pilot and I CAN’T WAIT to see more! I took your advice because apparently you totally RULE! :-)
T
You’re most welcome, dear.
Looks like the party was a grand success! So sad I couldn’t stay up / fly out to be a part of it.
you ROCK, stranger. I found you thru crafty crow, and since my daughter’s name is Bethany, came on over. We LOVE Chuck, but AFN started showing it at an impossible time for us to watch last season, so I’m so excited to get to watch new ones online!
btw, we run a Military Hospitality House in Rota Spain, doing ministry for the US Navy (and little bit of AF here!)
thanks for all you and your family do on behalf of us civies! God Bless!
I am now officially addicted to Chuck as well. Only, I live in Australia, and don’t have Foxtel, so have had to buy each episode off itunes. And I’m on the last one they have…(season one only)…argh!
