the size of Annalie’s heart

We were driving home last night well past Annalie’s bedtime when she informed me, “You know, even though I’m little I have a BIG heart!”

“Yeah, you do!” I said. “Who told you that?”

“No one told, me, it’s just the truth.” She held her hands up, a few inches apart as if holding an invisible softball. “It’s about this big.” She spread her hands wider. “No, more like this big. Actually,” she dropped her arms. “My heart is as big as Daddy! Only heavier.”
