TIGBALL!!!

That’s Gumball the Kitten (the pink kitty mascot Brenda created for Bug’s first birthday party) crossed with a tiger. This mug was a custom order for Rachelskirts, and it was super fun to paint.

It had been a while since I’d painted a Gumball mug, so Brenda made it easier for me and created a version with tiger stripes for me to copy (thanks, B!) which worked really well, except for the part where I forgot to outline one tiny part with the black puffy paint. Of course that’s all I can see when I look at this mug, but oh well. Nothing a little black sharpie won’t fix!

You know that tiny unicorns are everywhere, right? Jen of The Trephine wrote a series of blog posts about finding unexpected moments of joy and delight in the world, about how if you only pay attention and keep an eye out, tiny unicorns are indeed everywhere.

I painted these Ladies of Firefly mugs with quotes from Zoe, Inara, Kaylee and River for a custom order, and I’m really pleased with how they turned out.

I had to do a lot of mixing of paint to match the colors to these posters, as requested. If you’re interested in something similar let me know! I love custom orders, especially for geek dottery.
